Please note the Opening Banquet will take place at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, August 30th at the Foresters Hall in Kinburn, Ontario.

Scratch Fee Policy

Bitches in season may not compete and must be withdrawn. All entry fees paid for bitches in season will be returned to the owner provided that notice in writing is given to the Master National Secretary before the start of the stake. Entry fees paid for any dog withdrawn because of an injury, illness or death shall be refunded in full provided that a veterinary certificate is given to the Secretary before the start of the stake.

Vetting

Vetting of bitches will take place at Foresters Hall in Kinburn, Ontario Wednesday, August 30, 2006 between 3 and 4 pm.

Start Time

Test Dog will run at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2006 in or near Hullett Marsh Test site and route to site will be well marked.

Contestants convoy will leave the Kinburn Community Centre at 8:30 a.m.

The entry fee is $200.00. Please make all cheques and money orders payable to the Canadian Master National. American entrants may forward $170.00 US. N.S.F. cheques will be charged $30.00.

Proof of qualification is required for the following: CKC Master Hunter, AKC Master Hunter, NAHRA Master Hunting Retriever and UKC Hunting Retriever Champion.

Entries close Monday, August 21, 2006 at 7pm EST. Entries received after that time will not be accepted. The draw will be held at the home of the Master National Secretary. All dogs receiving a qualifying score will receive a rosette and commemorative gift.


Game Birds

Ducks and/or pheasants or suitable upland birds will be used.

Clothing

Proper hunting attire is required for all handlers. This will include camouflage and/or dark colours. Spectators are also requested to wear dark colours.

Upland

Dogs in the upland test will be required to flush a minimum of 2 game birds. The flushed game birds will be shot with live ammunition and retrieved. Competitors and gunners must wear Hunter orange.

Behavior and Conduct

The Master National adheres to the CKC Rules and Regulations regarding all conduct and behaviour on the grounds. Additionally:
1. After a series has been officially set up by the judges, no dog on the grounds and still in competition shall leave the area of the series until it has been tested and excused by the Marshal, unless otherwise excused by the Master National Committee. Further, during the running of the stake no competing dog shall, while on the grounds, be exercised, trained or worked with the exception of a bumper thrown by the handler and this only in an especially approved area and only for the purpose of exercising the dog.
2. Any dog not entered in the stake and interfering with the running of the stake may be required to be removed.
3. Exercise areas will be clearly defined.
4. Dogs not appearing on line when called will be given 15 minutes to do so.
5. Rotation will be used as directed by the Marshal.
6. The first scheduled test will be announced. Each next scheduled test will be posted with callbacks. Judges have no obligation to go ahead with a scheduled test as conditions may change.
7. No person participating in any capacity in the Master National shall be subject to an indignity of any kind. An officially appointed Discipline Committee will investigate any concerns.
8. No alcoholic beverages allowed on the test grounds until completion of the tests.
