This test for qualified Retrievers, Irish Water Spaniels and Standard Poodles is approved by and will be held under the rules and regulations of the Canadian Kennel Club.

Open to all dogs with a CKC Master Hunter title and/or an AKC Master Hunter title that received qualifying scores in 2 CKC approved Owner Handler Master Hunt Tests and/or Master Hunt Tests during the period September 4, 2007 to August 8, 2008

All dogs with a CKC Grand Master Hunter title
Note that the 2 qualifying scores may count towards the Master Hunter title.

BEHAVIOUR & CONDUCT
The National Master Hunt Test Stake adheres to the CKC Rules and Regulations regarding all conduct and behavior on the grounds. Additionally:

After a series has been officially set up by the judges, no dog on the grounds and still in competition shall leave the area of the series until it has been tested and excused by the Marshal, unless otherwise excused by the National Master Committee. Further, during the running of the stake no competing dog shall, while on the grounds, be exercised, trained or worked with the exception of a bumper thrown by the handler and this only in an especially approved area and only for the purpose of exercising the dog.

Any dog not entered in the stake and interfering with the running of the stake will be removed.

Exercise areas will be clearly defined.

Dogs not appearing on line when called will be given 15 minutes to do so.

Rotation of starting dog will be used as directed by the Marshall.

No person participating in any capacity in the Master National shall be subject to an indignity of any kind. An officially appointed Discipline Committee will investigate any concerns.
Canadian Kennel Club caution: It shall be the duty and obligation of the event giving club to see that a judge, club official, volunteer, or any participant at a hunt test held under these rules is not subject to any indignities of any kind. The Hunt Test Committee Chair shall promptly report to the CKC any infringement of this regulation, and the Discipline Committee shall have the authority to take such action as it deems fit on receipt of a report indicating that this has occurred.
ENTRY
Entry limited to 75 dogs. The entry fee is $200.00 CDN. Please make all cheques and money orders payable to the 2008 National Master. Entries close on Friday, August 8, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. after which no entries will be accepted. A listing fee of $8.40 per dog is required for dogs NOT individually registered with the CKC or having an ERN number. Telephone entries will not be accepted. Email or FAX entries will be accepted, but payment must be received by mail or courier prior to the closing date. Please forward your completed entry form and payment to:

Bitches in season may not compete and must be withdrawn. All entry fees paid for bitches in season will be refunded provided that notice in writing is given to the National Master Secretary before the start of the stake. Entry fees paid for any dog withdrawn because of an injury, illness or death shall be refunded in full. To be considered, refunds must be requested in writing to the National Master Secretary no latter than seven days after the stake, explaining the reason for the scratch. An appropriate veterinary certificate should accompany all refund requests.
Vetting of bitches will take place at Headquarters between 1:00 P.M. and 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, August 17, 2008.
AWARDS
All dogs receiving a qualifying score will receive a duck band, rosette and the title of National Master Hunter and shall be entitled to add the NMH prefix to the registered name
START TIME
On Monday morning, August 18th at 7:00 am a caravan will lead entrants and spectators from the Clubhouse to the site of the first test.
CLOTHING
All Handlers, observers and workers must wear camouflage clothing or appropriate hunting attire.
GAME
Dead ducks or pheasant will be used in all stakes except for the upland test, which will use live chukar partridges or pheasants.
UPLAND TEST
The upland test requires the flushing of game birds. The flushed game birds will be live pheasants or chukar partridge.
ASSISTING AT THE TRIAL
All entrants will be expected to pitch in and work to keep things running smoothly. The gun captain may ask entrants to assist by gunning, running a winger, planting a blind or helping to move equipment.
SOCIAL ACTIVITIES
BANQUET: Saturday August 16. The Opening Banquet will take place at the Sunset Estates Hall (junction of Hwy 316 and Hwy 5), 20 minutes from the Club Land. Cocktails: 5:00pm, Dinner: 6:00 pm. Handler numbers and kits will be distributed, there will be a draw to determine the starting dog number and the marshal will give instructions.$35.00
SHISHKEBOB BARBECUE AND BEER SOCIAL: Monday, August 18. $15.00
PURINA WORKERS PARTY: Wednesday, August 20. $25.00
(free to all individuals who work an entire day of the trial)
CONCLUSION: Friday August 22 or Saturday August 23. Announcement and Toasts to Qualifiers.

Entrants can purchase in advance one commemorative shirt with the Saskatoon Retriever Club and Master National Club logos. These are nice, lightweight shirts: , 3.52-oz, 100% cotton poplin. Soft and breathable with a vented cape back, 2 bellows cargo pockets. Sage color. Specify size: S-2XL. $45.00. These shirts may also be available for purchase at the event $45.00.

Camping
Camping (24 electrified plus overflow) is available on the Club grounds, with a fee of $15/night. Electricity is provided. A water tank (city water) will be available on the grounds and fills of camper tanks will be arranged as needed. Vacuum pumping for sewer will be available during the week.
